Social Work Assessments

1. Parenting Assessments

We use a range of tools and strategies to ensure a thorough assessment of parenting ability to meet the needs of the children, including strength based questionnaires, direct work tools and Parenting Assessment Manual tool kit, to inform the overall assessment.

2. Special guardianship and Kinship Assessments

As standard, assessment are undertaken within eight weeks from provision of letter of instruction. If your requirements differ from this, please feel free to give us a call to discuss your requirements. Local Authorities will be responsible for costs incurred in relation to medical, financial and other statutory checks required to complete the assessment.

3. PAMs Assessments

This assessment takes longer than a standard parenting assessment and results in a PAM’s report detailing the parenting capacity of vulnerable parents, for example where learning difficulties, mental health difficulties or alternative vulnerabilities are a key issue. ISW provide a collective approach to each assessment, allocating both a social workers and family support worker where required.

4. Risk Assessments

Including general risk, Domestic Violence and CSE Risk Assessments.

5. Social Work Assessments

We complete a range of social work assessments including Fostering (Form F) Assessments, Adoption Assessment (PAR Assessments) and Section 7 Reports.

6. Brief enquiries and age assessments

Brief enquiries are short age assessments meant to determine the age of putative young persons where there is an age dispute between a young person and the home office. We focus on the credibility of the young persons story, demeanour and other physical features. This has been necessitated by the influx of young unaccompanied minors coming into the country without documentation to prove their age.

We are also qualified to complete Merton age assessments in scenarios where a brief enquiry is inconclusive.
